Dynamics GP Roadshow + CPE!

The US Dynamics GP Field Team blog reminds us about the upcoming Dynamics Roadshow that I first mentioned to you back in late August. Well, now there is more good news. You can get continuing professional education credits for attending the Roadshow. How cool is that!

I've long felt that CPE was underrated by MS as a way to reach out to accounting professionals so it's nice to see that this is available. Way to go MS!

Convergence CPE is Up

When you log in to the Convergence website, a link to the CPE form is prominently displayed on the right. A direct link to the form is here.

A big thank you from me to all the folks at MS who make CPE available for this conference every year. It really makes a difference for many people in this group.

It seems that MS finally gets CPE. The communication has been better an the forms are more prominently displayed. Nice Job!

Convergence CPE Update

Somehow I missed a reply email from the Convergence team. They WILL be offering CPE for Convergence. I expect the forms to be up anytime now and I'll let you know once I have a link.

On the Hunt for 2008 Convergence CPE

I'm back on the hunt for Continuing Professional Education credits for Convergence 2008. I know from talking to folks that the availability of CPE lets them choose Convergence over other conferences. It also makes justifying the expense easier.

Well, MS was late with the CPE in 2006 and better in 2007. Still, it took a month of nudging in 2007, but we knew by the end of January that it was available. Well, I'm late with my poking and prodding this year, but I have confirmed that the CPE form is not in the same place it was last year.

We'll see what MS can come up with. After all, it's now less than a month away!

Convergence 2007 CPE Form is Here!

As promised, the CPE reporting form for Convergence 2007 is finally available. The CPE form is available here as a PDF. It's also available from the CPE button on the lower right of the MS Convergence website.
There are 25 CPE credits available for the whole conference. The recommended field of study is Accounting/Auditing but you may want to check your state's requirements. In Florida, computer related items are typically classified as technical business.
I want to add a big thank you to everyone on the Convergence team who made this possible. This is soooo much better than last year. Thanks for making this happen.

Convergence 2007 CPE is Official

My thanks to the MS folks who listened when I whined about Continuing Professional Education for Convergence. The Convergence website now has basic information confirming that CPE will be offered for Convergence 2007. The form and details should be available before Convergence starts.
I tend to be either way over or way short on CPE so this is a big help.

Convergence 2007 CPE is Coming!

The GP folks have confirmed that they will be offering Continuing Professional Education Credits for Convergence. The info is supposed to be on the on the MS Convergence website in the next day or two. As soon as it's up, I'll post the link.
The forms won't be available until early March, right before Convergence 2007 but that's a lot earlier than last year. If you've been on the fence about Convergence because of CPE, you can get off that fence now. Fence sitting is tough on the rear end.
Also, the forums seem to be fixed now as well.

An Open Letter To The Microsoft Convergence Team: Show Us Some CPE Love!

Last year at Convergence I (along with a number of others) made a stink about Continuing Professional Education. Those of us who need CPE to maintain our certifications are sensitive about which conferences we attend. It's just easier to justify conferences that offer CPE from a cost and time perspective.
The MS folks seemed lost last year when asked about CPE. Everybody sent  me to someone else and no one had an answer. I finally gave up and started blogging about it.
After the conference, the Convergence folks stepped up to the plate and provided a mechanism to report CPE. Thanks again for that.
This year, can we avoid the drama and get the CPE stuff out up front?
There's nothing on the Convergence website about it. I'm registered for Convergence but I'm unable to login to the forums and ask the question there. So I'll blog about it again and send an email.
How about it MS? It's a little over 2 months to Convergence, what can we expect from a CPE standpoint? Will we get some CPE love early this year?

Convergence 2006 CPE is HERE!

Yahoo! Oh, wait, wrong online service. Yippee!!! In a post Convergence email the MS team has provided CPE credits for Convergence. Here's a snippet from the email:

Interested in CPE Credits?
You asked, we listened. Due to attendee demand, we’re providing a form which you can use to file for CPE credits. Click
here to download the form to file for credits following the requirements of your state board.

I've confirmed that the CPE is form is there and it's for real. Up to 25 hours of CPE if you went to Convergence 2006! I bashed MS pretty hard in the blogs over this so now I'm going to give them some credit. To the Convergence 2006 team, great job in making this right!
