Weekly Review: Automatically Click the Mekorma Check Copy Button

In Mekorma’s ubiquitous MICR product for Dynamics GP there is a grey Check Copy toggle button. Pressing this button prior to check printing prevents the window from closing to allow the creation of non-negotiable check copies for filing. The problem is that this button is off by default and users frequently forget to push it when creating checks. In some companies this is a big focus of check printing training.
A client recently pointed out the presence of a Dex.ini switch that defaults this button to pressed or “on” by default. The switch is:

CopySwitchDown=1

The only downside is that if all the users have been trained to push this button, pushing it again the option off. Still, it’s often easier to train people to stop doing something.

GP Rocks Podcast. Show #1 is up!

The first episode of the GP Rocks podcast is finally done and up. We've juggled the schedule due to some conflicts, so show #1 honors go to Bob McAdam.
Bob is the IT Director for Trucks and Parts of Tampa. They sell, rent and refurbish trucks, mainly garbage trucks and own the Trucks.com domain.
Bob and I spent some time talking about their GP experience, how important Wennsoft's 3rd parties are for what they do and Mekorma's MICR app gets a little love too.
The podcast page is here. You can download the podcast directly from this link.
I hope you like it.
