New Facebook Poll on Convergence Sessions

Convergence is Microsoft’s premier customer conference for Dynamics users and it’s coming up in just about a month in Atlanta. All of my sessions are set for this year but I’m already thinking about the GPUG Summit in the fall and Convergence next year.

This year you are going to see an explosion of 50 Tips in 50 Minute sessions. They’ve been hugely popular and Microsoft decided to consciously expand their reach. I love that this little idea has taken root since it based on 100 tips in 100 minutes presentations that the Office team used to do at Convergence a long time ago.

But I worry that you’ll burn out. I wonder if the success of 50 Tips is that its like candy, fun and easy to consume. Or is the success a product of our YouTube, Text Messaging, Twitter culture? Do you still want fast and short or are you ready for some deep dive sessions? Does deep dive belong somewhere else? (Yeah, some days I worry too much)

I’ve put together a little Facebook poll to see what you think. I’ll run this again after Convergence to see if you’ve changed your mind so help me out and go vote.

New Facebook Poll: How often do you backup Dynamics GP?

There is a new poll up on the Facebook Fan Page. I'd like to know how often you backup Microsoft Dynamics GP. It's always been a sore spot for me and I'm curious about what a broader segment of users actually does.

Facebook Poll Results: You want Report Writer fixed!

In our very unscientific Facebook poll, 63% of users voted that the one item they want fixed the most in Dynamics GP is Report Writer. Importing and Stock counts followed with 19% and 13% of the votes respectively. Fixed Asset historical reporting brought up the rear at 6%.

Microsoft has started to address Report Writer in the upcoming GP 2010 with more SSRS reports, more Excel reports and Microsoft Word based forms. But at least at launch, the Word based forms will be based on existing Report Writer forms so I'm not sure that Microsoft has gotten the message loud enough and clear enough that you want Report Writer to go away. Convergence 2010 in Atlanta would be a great place to convey that message.

New Facebook Poll: What 1 thing should be fixed in Dynamics GP?

I've got a new poll up on the DynamicAccounting.net Facebook Fan Page. I want to know what one feature needs to be fixed in Dynamics GP. Go to the fan page and vote in the poll on the left. Feel free to leave related comments on the wall.

In our last poll, a majority of those who responded are planning on going to Convergence so it looks like it's going to be a great conference this year. Don't forget that registration is open now and cheaper if you register early!
