This week I'm looking at a feature I haven't used a lot, Dynamics GP lists. Lists can be turned on using icons at the bottom of the Shortcuts bar or from the view menu (View->Financial Lists for example). Lists are weird hybrid, somewhere between Inquiries and SmartLists. Basically, lists are a way to see information with greater flexibility than Inquiry screens but less work than a Smartlist.
Some of the benefits of Lists are the ability to add or remove columns with the COLUMNS button on the upper right, fast searches, easy date selection and smooth transaction drill down. You can include or exclude historical transactions as well. Viewing a quick piece of info is faster than creating a smartlist and filtering the dates.
The downside of Lists is that once you have your info, you can only view it. There is no print option. They're not dumb lists, more like, "not as smart" Lists. I suspect there will be some roles that really benefit from Lists but alot of people will gravitate toward Inquiries or Smartlists instead.
