Windows Vista is not Cracker Jack, that's for sure. There's gonna be some prizes missing from the box when Vista ships. Via Mary Jo Foley, some of the items that will not work with Vista's initial release include:
SQL Server 2005, SP1 (and 2000 and 97)
MSDE
Visual Studio 2005, SP1
SQL Server and to increasing extent, Visual Studio, are important to GP users. I'm sure you're all running GP on Windows 2003 server or at least Windows 2000 server (if you run NT, please don't tell. I don't want to know!) so you'll wait until the server release of Vista to upgrade anyway. But what about testing? Lots of people test GP on Windows XP. Are we all stuck?
Well, to get SQL Server 2005 running on Vista you'll need Service Pack 2. Oh yeah, it's not out yet. It's not officially in Alpha or Beta yet. The first preview is due "soon".
