Microsoft Loses EU Appeal

If you've missed the news, Microsoft has lost it's appeal of the European Union's anti-trust case. The ruling that MS abused it's monopoly position stands, as does the roughly $700 million fine. That's just under 500 million Euros or "Oh My GOD that's a lot of zeros" 80 billion yen.
How does this affect the Dynamics community? In the short run, it probably won't. In the long run, there will have to some consequences at MS. Despite their size and money, everybody in MS still fights for a piece of the resource pie just like you and me.  Now, there may the cash equivalent of Liberia's annual GDP sucked out of the resource pie at MS. This has to have some impact.
It may mean that there are more opportunities for 3rd party developers to fill in holes that MS defers resources from. It may mean that annual licensing fees drift up. There may be a few more features that don't make it into version 11. They may flog the staff, the partners and everybody to make up the hole. This isn't accounting income, it's cash. Does anyone out there think that MS parts with cash easily?
Yeah, I know $700 million may not sound like much to Microsoft but imagine what would happen if that entire $700 million had been dropped into development of Dynamics GP?
