GP 10 Feature Pack

I haven't posted much about the GP 10 Feature Pack that was mentioned at Convergence because we never saw a complete list of what was in there. Well, now the list is on Partnersource and I can give you some highlights.

• Office Excel Report Builder - A part of Smartlist Builder, I'm now sure how this differentiates from simple using the Office Data Connector that is part of the native Excel reports but you can't complain that you don't have reporting options!
• Historical Inventory Trial Balance - The promise is that now you'll always be able to tie your Inventory to GL regardless of your inventory method. I want to believe in this one. We'll leave it at that.
• Contracts - There's a bunch of additions to the Contract portion of Field Service.
• Project Accounting - A couple of nice new features for Project Accounting
• "Rapid" stuff - This category has improvements to deployment, configuration, configuration templates and the all important Quickbooks migration tool. These tools may ease new deployment but until I see them, I don't know how valuable they will be to existing customers.
• Performance Point - The connectors for Performance Point are in this release so I'm looking forward to that.
• Security - previously released security sychronization tool used to link up security across products like GP, Business Portal and Sharepoint is included in here.
• SQL Server 2008 - Feature Pack 1 adds compatibility for SQL Server 2008.

There's a few more things but those were the biggies. Last I heard this was due in the June 2008 time frame. That still seems reasonable.
