When I was in industry, I didn't do my own upgrades. I used a reseller. Frankly, there was too much to do each day without spending time researching the necessary pieces, doing the upgrade and having available time if something went wrong. It's not unusual to find someone at a reseller who does a ton of upgrades and can help smooth out this process. I like using someone who has already done a hundred of these. Of course, that means that you have to take their advice!
