MSDynamicsWorld is reporting that MS is canceling the European Convergence conference due to economic conditions. I guess that rules out a Vienna trip for me this year (that's sarcasm).
This conference is newer and smaller than the U.S. Dynamics conference. It will be replaced by smaller, regional events in the Europe, Middle East and Africa.
On a purely rumor note, I keep hearing from multiple sources that the Microsoft team keeps pushing AX. But in practice, Convergence continues to be a heavy GP conference and now they've canceled the conference that should be full of AX and NAV users. I'm not sure what that's all about but MS needs to tread lightly as there are a lot of vocal GP users out there.
Fortunately for MS, their assault on the mid-market means that it's getting harder for companies to justify buying a competing mid-level product. Sage continues to feel shaky as a company and everyone else had just gotten creamed by the MS juggernaut. Top tier firms still offer plenty of competition at the high end but the middle is now Microsoft's for the taking if they don't screw it up.
