Long Account Numbers

The DynamicsBlogger has run into the issues that can happen when using really long account numbers in Dynamics GP. I'm having trouble leaving a comment so I'll comment here. The key is to turn on Horizontal Scrolling in User Preference. Thanks for the shout-out. what you suggested (Horizontal Scroll) is a great suggestion that I really didnt think about it before. Yes, it works. Only constraint that remains for us is when we'd like to select accounts in lookups, we have to constantly rely on Additional Sorts for looking up the actual account.

One major issue is that this issue may lead to an accounting clerk choosing wrong accounts which is why I've raised this issue.

In Dynamics AX, all accounts are dimensions based, so no issue over there and in one way disadvantageous for clients looking to use both dimensions and Segments. In Dynamics GP, we have both of these options, however, we could not accommodate clients to prefer to use to the maximum segments possible. This will be an issue where we implement the solution in large enterprises, reporting of which is critical.
