AccountingWeb has a new article up indicating that Michigan's Department of Treasury is ignoring the statute of limitations for Use Tax. Essentially the article asserts that Michigan is improperly imposing a 10 year look back period on Use Tax. Expect more shenanigans from states as they desperately try to collect more revenue. The best defense is solid compliance that's where GP comes in with a myriad of tax options from CCH, Sabrix, Tax Assist and others. Don't get caught ignoring these taxes. Your state certainly isn't.
