GP 2010: Remember User and Company

Inside Microsoft Dynamics GP is looking at new features in Dynamics GP 2010. Yesterday's feature of the day is the ability to remember a user a company ID allowing users to login without having to type their user id and password each time. I wish they would have gone farther and integrated it with Active Directory but it's still a great move in the right direction.

Hi Mark! You are right, this is a very nice feature. It will help Microsoft win where they may have been excluded in the past. However, this is a system-wide setting so it's not secure enough for companies with a significant number of users, with tight security restrictions or anyone using payroll. Those companies would be better off using Fastpath since you can use various levels of single sign on depending on the user. Then, of course, you get the Active Directory integration link so users can login with their network credentials. Btw, good info the last few weeks (as always). Great to hear more about 2010!

I agree Julie. It looks like there is no push at MS to integrate GP with AD so FastPath will continue to be my preferred solution. Although it will be nice to not have to worry logging in to my test company every time I want to look at something!
