GPUG Day 2

So I had this great GPUG day 2 post covering yesterday and it crashed when I tried to save it so let’s try again.

After a busy night the morning 50 Tips session started a little slow. I fixed that by handing out Diet Dew. The session ended right on time and we had a lot of fun. After that I popped into a session on new budget tool Dynamic Budgets. It looks like a great release, give Zubin a call to find out more.

At lunch I had a great Microsoft discussion around the new light user licenses. I don’t think either of us changed the other’s mind but we may have moved toward the middle. I also got a look at the Metaviewer paperless system for Dynamics GP. If you’re looking for a document management solution make sure that they are on the list.

After lunch I caught a session on the new Navigation and Drill Down builders and those are both pretty slick. Later I was really impressed by the Microsoft Conduit session on the cloud.

What’s a Conduit session? Think 8-10 people, a Microsoft facilitator and more softies lurking in the background. You all sit around and talk about a particular topic, how it relates to GP and where MS is going and thinking about going. It’s a fantastic feedback session.

I’ve really been impressed with the level of engagement of the MS folks this week. They are not just listening, they are asking good questions, challenging us and working to understand.

After one last expo we all hit up Fat Fish Blue for the Rock – n – Rave party. We think we managed to talk a customer into doing a Field Service presentation next year. If your firm has an expertise in an area of GP consider leading a GPUG session!

Everyone had a blast and I was thrilled that I didn’t have to lead an 8am session the next day.
