This weekend, Satya Nadella's blog gives us a preview of the tone of Convergence 2006. Expect to hear a lot about "People-Ready" software and "People-Ready Business". I like the focus on people. It humanizes Microsoft. This "humanizing" of MS really started with Robert Scoble and his blog and has spread with the growth of other MS bloggers, the MVP and RD programs and all of their efforts to create a conversation.
But Microsoft Dynamics (formerly Business Solutions) has been slow to show the kind of transparency seen with say, the SQL Server 2005 product or the upcoming Office 2007. I know A LOT MORE about the features coming in Office 2007 than in the next version of DynamicsGP. The list of Dynamics bloggers is pretty small and inconsistent. Too many blog posts from Microsofties sound like PR releases when discussing Dynamics products. I do have to give the CRM guys credit, there seems to be alot more conversations going on in the blogosphere around CRM. Shame on the rest of the groups! Show us some passion for the products this week so we can go back to and create some buzz!
